Reduction in Force - Page 2 Empty HELP SAVE SPECIALS!

Post  Admin Mon Jun 14, 2010 11:22 am

If you really want to make an impact, we need to have an e-mail blitz attack to the administrators and school board members. A reliable source tells me that Carolyn Ross told her administrators “there will be no specials” and Meihack firmly believes specials should have been cut years ago. If 300-400 people e-mailed the admin and board members expressing their strong feelings with a positive rationale for keeping specials, it might have some impact. WE NEED TO ACT ON THIS QUICKLY as the next board meeting is on Thursday, so DO IT NOW if you can! We need to DEMAND ACTION on this matter.

Here’s a list of the e-mails. Send it to EVERYONE…Carolyn, Scott and ALL board members. Four of our members often vote as a block and they endorse almost everything Carolyn and Scott say. If the entire board doesn’t get the e-mail that Carolyn and Scott get, there’s no accountability, i.e. Carolyn and Scott could simply delete them and take no action.

To make it easier, I’ll just put all the e-mails together, separated by a comma so you can copy and paste the entire thing into the address tab of your e-mail:
rossc@churchill.k12.nv.us, meihacks@churchill.k12.nv.us , richard.gent@navy.mil, eyedr@phonewave.net, bucky@cccomm.net, bevans@oasisol.com, rigginst@churchill.k12.nv.us, donkeele@gmail.com, keeled@churchill.k12.nv.us, snunn14061@aol.com, nunns@churchill.k12.nv.us

There have been a few times when it has been the administration that has saved a teacher in need of improvement. The union does know those that need to go work in another field and have tried to move them out. However, if a teacher complains about the scoring then the admin. caves. It is not always the union. In fact through negotiations the teachers' union has offered some pretty sound alternatives in order to get more teachers back to work. There has been word out that the DO does not want to bring back any more of the rif'd teachers. Let us remember that there are usually two sides to a story.
My only agenda is to have teachers in the classrooms teaching the children. In the past there have been larger numbers of children in classes. That does not mean that it was the right thing to do. The needs of children are far greater today than they were in the past. Let us hope that the right decisions are made for the sake of the children.
Retired, you have some good ideas there. Speak up and let them be known. Razz
